My Little Pumpkins
We went on our first field trip last Friday. I have to say that it was my favorite field trip ever! We we able to measure, weigh, and decorate pumpkins thanks to our generous parents in class, prior to the field trip! THANK YOU!! Our class did several activities with pumpkins throughout the week. Ask your child something about a pumpkin...he/she should know just about everything! :) At the Painted Ponies Pumpkin Patch, we went on a hay ride, rode ponies, decorated our own pumpkins, jumped in a bouncy house, and we even got to see bunnies, donkeys, chickens, hens, and goats! Here is one picture, and there will be several more to come!

Learnin' and Lovin' First Grade
We have been maximizing every minute that we have during our school day! From the time we walk into the classroom door, until the time we leave to go home, we are learning so much! We do whole group instruction, small group instruction, center groups, buddy groups, and even some one on one time. Here are a few pictures of us during a typical school day! Hope you are enjoying these pictures as much as we are enjoying class! School Rocks! :)

Limeades For Learning
Ok! Drink up! Sonic has kicked off their annual Limeades for Learning! Each time you go to Sonic to get a drink, you will get a code that you can go online and vote with! Let me explain, it doesn't matter what size drink you buy, nor does it matter what type of beverage it is! My kids and I get water (25 cents) after soccer practice during the Limeades for Learning! Happy hour is usually 2-5 at most of the Sonics, and their drinks are half priced! SWEET! Use your code to vote for your favorite teacher and favorite project! (Of course, Mrs. Poirot's ;)) Last year we won, so let's try again this year! It's all about my students! Your vote will help provide them with extra awesome things in the classroom! Let me know if you have any questions! Drink up until September 31st! :) I'll keep you posted and let you know if we get a project funded!! (Fingers are crossed!)
